Our pet portraits are artfully made to capture the essence of your pet. They are created using a technique called raw edge appliqué. These portraits may be made as a wall hanging, a pillow or a quilt.
We are currently not accepting commissions, however, we offer interactive online workshops periodically throughout the year to guide you through creating your own!
Here are answers to some frequently asked questions that may help you decide if our portraits are right for you:
Raw edge appliqué is a technique that uses layers of fabric in shapes to create an image, in this case, a pet portrait. Once the image is created, these layers are adhered together and stitched around the perimeter to stop the edges from excessively fraying.
The less aggressive you are with your pet portrait, the better. A simple lint roller will remove any dust and dirt from the portrait, without causing harm. If you get a spot or stain, I recommend you spot clean only. Do not put your pet portrait in the washing machine! This will cause excessive fraying to the appliqué. For this reason, it is recommended that any pet portrait made into a quilt be lightly used, and not used as an every day quilt.
Sorry, I am not accepting commissions at this time.
